1966: Born in Manhattan .
1970: Is an early fan of Florence Eiseman dresses and Danskin separates, showing an early appreciation for clean, American style.
1980: Loves looking at photos of her mom's sixties-style pregnancies, assumes hers will be equally as chic.
1982: Gets straight A's in school, but is most proud of her Fiorucci jeans collection and her red Ralph Lauren cowboy boots.
1984: Matriculates at Brown University . Quickly becomes aware that Providence is not the style Mecca of the Eastern Seaboard. Is quoted in Brown Daily Herald regarding a new Benetton boutique, "it's great for when you need that essential sweater.
1988: Graduates from Brown with a degree in comparative literature. Returns to New York as quickly as possible.
1988: Joins fashion staff of Vogue magazine, where she learns that fabric and cut are everything
1993: With two partners, starts a contemporary sportswear line.
1996: Marries Jeffrey Lange and finds that all of her friends are starting to get pregnant. Spends a year listening to them complain that they can't find any good maternity clothes.
1997: Opens Liz Lange Maternity to provide her friends and others with stylish, well-made maternity clothes. Business explodes as celebrities and ordinary women learn that they can actually look great when they're pregnant.
1998: Gets pregnant. Fine-tunes collection on herself. Gus is born in October.
1999: Launches catalog and website so women who don't live in New York can also look great when they're pregnant.
2000: Gets pregnant again because she misses wearing maternity clothes. Opens bigger, better store on Madison Avenue in New York . Opens second store in Beverly Hills . Daughter Alice is born in November.
2001: Finally move into real corporate office space. Spends lots of time working on new and exciting projects. Signs exclusive deal with Nike.
2002: Opens third store on Long Island . Designs maternity line for Target.
2003: She wrote the book! Random House publishes Liz's book, "Liz Lange's Maternity Style: How to look fabulous during the most fashion-challenged Time." Now woman everywhere can have the Liz Lange look.
2004: Collaborates with Nikon on a limited edition Liz Lange Camera.
2005: Check out my new monthly column in Prevention Magazine. In it, I provide lots of tips on how to look and feel like a stylish mom-to-be during all nine months of pregnancy.
2006: The 4th trimester concept is born. Because the old saying, nine months on nine months off is pretty true, these post-partum pieces are here to save the day - they're sexy slimming and perfect for that in between time before you're back to the real you.
